GRAND THEATRE    121 East 200 South    Opened: 1897    Closed: 1910    Re-Opened: 1915    Closed: 1918

Previously the Grand Opera House, from 1888 to 1897, the theater was renamed the New Grand Theatre in 1897.

Located at 121 East 200 South, the theater was remodeled in 1910 and re-opened as the Garrick Theater. The aisles were widened and new carpets were laid, along with new plush green draperies hung on brass rails, that followed the interior color scheme of softer colors in lighter orange, green, and gold.

On May 23, 1915 the theater was re-opened under the name of the Grand Theatre again. After three more years under the Grand name, the theater's name was change to The Hippodrome and remodeled once again.
