ISIS THEATER    65 East 300 South    Opened: 1908    Closed: 1935

The Isis Theater, named after the Temple of Isis on the Nile river, was located at 65 East 300 South (Broadway) and opened in January 1908.

The design of the building was Egyptian with a large alcove enterance having a far over-hanging roof and beautiful oil paintings above the entrance doors leading into the theater. Inside, massive wooden beams surrounded the motion picture screen and had seating for 440 patrons.

The projection booth in the theater was designed as fire proof and sound proof.

On Sunday July 21st, 1935 the Isis Theater was formally changed to the Broadway Theater. This was following an expendeture of a large sum of money to renovate and remodel the theater, including the purchasing of a new sign.
